Nose wrinkling when smiling?

What does it mean when someone does at cute nose wrinkle smile at you? For example here's what happened to me:

I was looking at the ground and smirking about something. Then, the person who wrinkled their nose asked me what I was smiling about.

"Nothing" I said, still smiling.

Then they made a cute nose wrinkle smile at me, like
this photo.

What could it mean in this context?

I've always associated that facial expression with being silly... it's not unlike making a bunny face.

In my opinion, she (assumption on my part) is just saying "You're crazy!" (but crazy in a good and positive way). She was just exchanging a look of understanding with you... that life's better if you go through it smiling.
