Scrunching your Forehead

Scrunching the forehead

Scrunching the forehead

What does it mean if you scrunch your forehead while talking?

Our Answer

Scrunching your forehead is pulling together the muscles in your forehead, making it look wrinkled near the center. It is usually associated with being mad (Grrr!), but from my own observation I would say that scrunching the forehead is more a sign of intense concentration.

Take a look at someone who's watching a great movie, the kind that totally pull you 'into the story', chances are that she is scrunching the forehead.

Likewise, if someone's talking with a scrunched forehead, he's concentrating heavily on what he is saying.

However, as always, you cannot isolate one body language signal, and say with 100% accuracy what it means... after all, if the talking and scrunching is done with bulging eyes, breaking voice, snarling lips, sharp arm and hand movements, pointing fingers, etc., the person is most likely very angry.

I hope this answers your question.
