Avoiding Eye Contact

In a business conversation, when the other party won't make eye contact when directly spoken to and always moves around to the side of you, what is their body language saying?

Our Answer

Avoiding eye contact can be a sign of insecurity or disinterest. If that person is also shifting to your side, then the feet are probably pointing away from you. That's a signal that he or she would rather leave than talk to you.

Because this behavior is showing when that person is spoken to directly, I think the body language is showing that this person is insecure or nervous around (groups of) people.
